INTERESTING CTCU STORY
CTCU runs in my family. My mom was Jay McCaughey’s first employee when he brought the CU from his basement to an office building. My first experience with CTCU was more than 20 years ago when I worked in the accounting department for a short time leaving only to spend more time with my three sons. They are now grown so here I am, back and loving it!

INTERESTING CTCU STORY
During my years at CTCU, I have always tried to make a connection with the children. I love to call the kids by name and watch their faces trying to find out how I know their names. I have watched hundreds of them grow up, get drivers licenses, and some are even getting married now and having children of their own. It is wonderful to be part of so many people's upbringing and making connections!

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT CTCU?

CTCU is more than a financial institution. It is a business that believes in its members. We care about the people we service and do our best to make them feel important like family. Members are not just a number or a dollar sign, they are living, breathing individuals with needs that we do our best to not only accommodate, but exceed.

The beauty of working here is that each day is like the first time I entered the building. The friendliness,
care, and excitement to be challenged by another day never ends.

HOBBIES
I don’t think many people find this enjoyable, but I love to clean while listening to Country music. It is so relaxing. Spending time with my family is a priceless thing to me and my hobby would be bowling.

INTERESTING CTCU STORY
My son Alex had come home from deployment after being stationed in Iraq for over a year.  We did have the privilege of welcoming him and his Battalion’s return to his duty station in Texas.  The visit was short, but priceless all the same.  Five months later he was coming home for leave.  I chose to work that day so didn’t go with my family to the airport to pick him up knowing I would be spending the next few days with him.  To my surprise they stopped at the branch after the airport which brought tears to my eyes.  Mind you I was assisting a Veteran and his wife.  They both turned around to see what had caught my eye and my Veteran Member went up to my son before I could and gave him a never ending hug with tears in his eyes.  After what felt like eternity, the wife finally told her husband she was pretty sure that Soldier wants to hug his mom.  This is the type of interaction I am referring to about how we, CTCU and our Members, care about each other.  We are more than just a credit union, we are part of the community.
