CTCU Board Member Linda Wegge Slipke is Honored as Grayslake's Volunteer of the Year.
Economic Development Commission member/Grayslake Trustee, and Tony Lucenko, the village's Economic Development Director presented her with a plaque.
"I give back to Grayslake because Grayslake has been so good to me and my family," explained Linda, adding that she is happy to volunteer her efforts "wherever and whenever they are needed."
Besides being a member of the Board of Directors for Community Trust Credit Union (which has
branch offices in Grayslake and Gurnee - and another opening in Lake Villa next year), Linda serves
on the Grayslake Arts Festival Committee, and the Grayslake Summer Days Committee. She is
past-President and a current member of the Board of Directors of
the Grayslake Chamber of Commerce, and is also active in the Grayslake Downtown Business Trick-or-Treat Committee.
"There aren't too many civic events happening in Grayslake that I'm not involved with in one way or another," added Linda, whose business is ATC Wegge Limited, an accounting and tax consulting firm founded in 1960 by her father who move the business to Grayslake in 1963. The firm moved into its current downtown Center Street location in 1975.
Community Trust CU's President and CEO Madeline Lipka was also welcomed as the President Elect of the Grayslake Chamber of Commerce & Industry at the dinner. "It was a proud evening for Community Trust," Lipka added. "We are honored to be so active in the Grayslake community and look forward to contributing to its continued success."
