Community Education Programs and Speakers Bureau

CTCU Education programs bring financial literacy and a "common sense approach" to money and financial responsibility to classrooms through Lake and McHenry counties in Illinois. Programs are available for students from first through 12th grades and are available to learning institutions at no charge.

Civic groups, and charitable organizations in Lake and McHenry counties, Illlinois can take advantage of CTCU's financial expertise by contacting their Speakers Bureau. Experts are available on topics ranging from business and organizational financial management to investment strategies for individuals. Speaking services are available to quality groups at no charge.

Financial Seminars

CTCU is dedicated toward increasing the financial literacy of our children by holding financial presentations at local high and grade schools. Subjects are always age appropriate, and introduce kids to the financial issues most relevant to them in a way they can understand. If you are interested in having a CTCU representative speak at your class, community or club function, please contact us.

Scholarship Program

Not all families can afford the ever rising cost of a college education for their children. Each year CTCU awards scholarships to those students who exhibit great future potential, yet are in jeopardy due to a lack of college funding. Applicant must be a high school senior who will be enrolled in a college or technical school within 6 months of graduation from high school. The high school student and/or parent must be a CTCU member in good standing for at least 1 year prior to application.

Toys for Tots / Angel Tree

We believe that everyone should experience the joy of the holidays. This is why we partner with the U.S. Marines (Toys for Tots) and the Salvation Army (Angel Tree) in providing for the most needy children in our community. CTCU members join together in donating hundreds of toys each year simply because we want to bring a little love and compassion to these children's lives.

Food Pantry

Community Trust Credit Union supported the C.O.O.L. pantry by asking members to donate food to help the families in need in our community. C.O.O.L. is a not-for-profit organization created to provide food and housing/life skills for the hungry and homeless in Lake County, IL. Thanks to our members and staff, we collected over 650 items of food to be donated to the pantry. Employees delivered and helped put the food away at the pantry.
